Find Chrysler Belts On The Internet

Replacing your Chrysler belts, as with your hoses, is a relatively simple job that requires very few tools and very little time. It is recommended that you change your belts periodically, whether they show signs of wear or not. If it's been several years since you've changed the serpentine belt, set aside an hour or so to make this simple car repair.

Replacing Chrysler Belts Easily

The process of changing the serpentine belt in your Chrysler is pretty simple. The most complicated part is getting the old one off all of the peripherals. Before you do this, however, you need to be sure you know how it was routed. If you can't find the routing diagram, which should be under the hood or on the radiator, draw one yourself. Don't try to do it from memory; it's not worth the hassle.

After you've got your diagram, remove the old belt. The easiest way to do this is to disengage the tensioner and slide the belt off it first. Then unwrap it from the other parts. Don't throw the old one away unless it is broken or severely damaged. You can keep it as an emergency spare in your trunk. Take the new belt out of the packaging and route it the same way as the older one. Your last step should be to disengage the tensioner again to slip the new one over it. If it doesn't slide into place easily, don't force it. Instead, get a new one that is slightly longer.
