Installing New Oldsmobile Hoses
In order to install new hoses in your late-model Oldsmobile, you will need a new preformed water hose, adjustable clamps (with screws), screwdriver and a coolant mixture of 50 percent water and 50 percent coolant. After your engine is cool, drain your engine of radiator fluid. Then clamp the new hose to the top of the radiator shroud on one side and to the thermostat housing on the other side. You will need to use screws at this point to secure the clamps on either side.
You can then do the same for the hose connection at the bottom of the radiator shroud and the bottom of the engine. After that, fill the radiator with your coolant mixture and start the engine with the radiator cap open. Always make sure your clamps are secure before starting your engine. As the coolant cycles through the radiator, you can top it off and close up the radiator cap once it's been filled up to the overflow line marked "full."
